Seniors Host New Online Radio Station Called, “Radio Recliner”
Meet Radio Recliner,
The internet radio connecting senior citizens and their loved ones
Radio Recliner is taking over the internet. And the DJ’s are doing this from inside their own senior care facilities. Created this last April, by Atlanta based agency Luckie, Radio Recliner is a way that “We can stay connected while we’re confined to our rooms”, according to their website.
Every DJ records their segment from the senior living homes where they reside. Keeping the DJ’s safe, busy and connected to the outside events. From Dolly Parton to the Beach Boys, all sorts of music styles and current topics are presented. “There’s nowhere I’d rather be in a pandemic, unless it would be Baskin-Robbins with Blake Shelton”, jokes DJ Pepper Toe, a retiree from Franklin, Tenn.
With little more than 2 months after launch, the number of volunteer DJ’s keeps growing and new shows are uploaded everyday at 11am (CDT). You can request and dedicate songs on the website and even take a shot as a DJ.
